It was 3 years ago today I had finished the last page of Doe of Deadwood, and on that same day started sketching the first page of Roar Howl Run. RHR finished production on July 3rd 2021, after a run of a little over 2 years. It took some time to catch up with posting. RHR took me through some pretty bad periods of my life. I had held off including an ace character in a comic for so long because it was an issue personal to me, and I definitely got some comments that reminded me why I didn't want to include topics close to me. But a lot of people also told me that they were happy to see themselves in a protagonist for once, which is a very powerful compliment. So ultimately, I am glad to have told Ata's story.

Thank you everyone on Comicfury, I have come to really love this website more than I thought that I would. I still have my other comic, Repeat, on-going. Any future comics will also be posted to this website. I hope you've enjoyed the ride, and I hope you join me on any future adventures or even just over on Repeat!

March 24th is the arbitrary date I use to measure my comic progress in the year. Because of the posting delay I operate on, it's hard to keep track of when pages were completed without going back through file data. So, March 24th was the day I finished making DoD, which was the day I started RHR, which is how I've been measuring it. This year has been something. But that's enough rambling.

Roar Howl Run: 37 pages (263-300)
Repeat: 152 pages (76-228)
Mare of Diomedes: 5 pages
Group event comic: 1 page
Future project: 7 pages
Total: 202 pages

I got into this comic late, and subbed even later when I finished binging (like right near the end of the comic haha), and I'm glad to have joined this ride for however long was left after I caught up.

Also yeah I'm one of those people who are glad there's ace rep

I love your stories and looking forward to the future project.

The story was really great to read. I fully enjoyed Ata's journey beginning to end. I'm also satisfied with the ending with the thought that Ata's spirit ended up becoming a 'non-star' spirit to protect those that don't want to follow the ways of their stars. The way she becomes like a black rabbit spirit also reminds me of the black rabbit of inle from Watership Down, obviously Ata in this instance is her own thing and there's clear differences- I'm just saying from my experiences and inspirations that, that is what it reminds me of.

I've been enjoying your stories so far and I can't wait to see how Repeat goes.

This was beautiful, thank you so much for sharing this story with us. I'm so deeply glad and the fact that even though it was bittersweet, it is kind of a happy ending. Ata gets to protect those from the stars, she gets to live her like pain free and her family gets to be free as well.

It's truly inspired me, thank you so much for this journey. You should feel proud of yourself, not everyone can finish a comic.

I loved this comic! I'm on the ace spectrum myself and it was great to see the topic covered in a comic series. I'm sorry you experienced online harrassment 'bout it.

I work in a bookstore and there's a new YA book that is getting some attention called Loveless, and the main character is ace. It's so rare to see ace sexuality covered in media but I'm glad there's more stuff becoming available for both teens and adults all the time!

(I also just finished A Flightless Bird and really enjoyed it! So now I'm going to go read Repeat as well!)

This was an epic comic, and I'm glad to have been on this journey since the beginning! I'm sorry I haven't commented much, but I've loved each and every page and ADORE how you added an ace character. As a comic artist myself, 202 pages a year is a sight to behold and I have much respect for you. Wishing you luck for the coming year! Remember to drink water and take breaks. <3

This was an amazing comic with amazing characters. I don't usually read "animal comics" but this one really grabbed me and I'm glad to see it to the end.

Thank you for such a wild, emotional ride.

I can't believe Ata's story is finally finished! Roar Howl Run was a story that shocked me with how mature and intelligent it was. The story always captivated me. I'll miss Ata's amazing, empowering story of defying the will of fate and carving out one's own destiny. I'm excited to see how Repeat processes, and I can't wait to see what you do next!

Once again, congrats on another chapter closed. The battles you've faced outside of these stories is reflected in the battles you give to your characters. Untold conflicts and problems you face and wish to conquer. And Ata, she faced against the stars.. something we can't even touch. We can't thank you enough for coming back to finish this series.

what a lovely story this has been to follow! i loved ata's attitude and growth. sad to hear that her asexuality caused some comments to hit too close, but it was a lovely inclusion nevertheless, as an ace reader! thanks for always uploading your comics, can't wait to see the end of repeat next.

Another beautifully perfect comic! The story was wonderfully done, really a "choose your own fate" comic with a different and good spin on it. I love that Ata went on in death to protect those who may not fit into the role they were born into. I loved reading Ata's journey.

Also, as a slight side note; during the time span of this comic, I figured out I was aro/ace. I'd like to think Ata had something to do with that, seeing a character who didn't want romance or children, she really hit the mark. She was really nice representation in a world that has little, and even as I did some re-reading I realized how much I connected with her experiences. So thank you. <3

Thank you so so much for Ata's story. Absolutely beautiful story and as someone on the ace-spec myself I fully agree seeing myself in her made her so much more relatable as a protag. ♡♡

20th April 2022 here.

You said a lot of people reminded you why you didn't want to tell this story, and then a lot of people told you they loved this story.

I belong to the second group - really, thank you so much for sharing Ata's story. She lived longer than usual for her kind, not long enough as her family, but ultimately, she lived a happy and fulfilling life. It was great to see her defy everything the world (and stars) threw at her, and it was even more lovely to see her up in the sky, helping others like her! She might've not lived like others wanted her to, but she still left her mark on the world.

It was also just great to see a protagonist like this - insistent and stubborn to keep living the life they want, no matter what others told them. Really, you made Ata justice.

Thank you again for sharing. I might look around to read your other comics, too.

Congratulations on finishing! Incredible job you did, this has to be one of my favorite comics on CF. the story, characters and art were lovely and enjoyable all the way through.

I loved the message and Ata as a protagonist. despite the world being against her, she still pushed through and defied what everyone expected from her because it's not what she wanted. it also shows that sometimes blood is not thicker than water, I loved loved Ata's found family, and how they've had her back until the end. the ending, although sad, was satisfying, with Ata becoming the opposite(?) of a star and protecting those who are like her. Ata's journey ended too soon, but she left her mark on the world and on everyone who knew her.

ALSO it took me until the end to realize this comic was loosely based off Greek mythology which made me like it even more because come on mythology is cool

I wish I had discovered it sooner, but I'm glad I found it anyways!

Binged this entire comic after is was recommended as an example of a character being asexual and that being tied into the story… and I really, really love this comic. Such fun characters, such a delightful world and message. Your colors are fantastic and Ata’s struggles feel very familiar. Thank you so much for writing and drawing it!

This comic was incredibly powerful and emotional. My heart still hurts after Ata's final battle, but I love that the Stars, despite all their cruelty, could not destroy her completely, and she still lives on in some way and defies them.

Ata was an extremely admirable character, and it was wonderful to have watched her grow up, becoming less reckless but never losing her boldness and courage. I love that what she valued most was her family, and that her relationship with her family sometimes became very complicated, but never because any of them loved each other less.

I also think you were bold, for telling Ata's story. I hope that, even if you don't share anything online, you continue to create. You seriously have a lot of talent, and personally inspired me to make my own comic.

Thank you so much for sharing this comic. I made you a little drawing to belatedly celebrate Roar Howl Run's completion :) And this time I hosted it on Imgur so hopefully the link will not break!! https://imgur.com/4XYNQrL
